Mission Sunday was joyously celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, Hegde Nagar, on November 24, 2024. The event brought the entire parish community together in a spirit of unity and generosity to support missionary activities.
The day began with a solemn Eucharistic celebration, where the faithful gathered to pray for missions and reflect on the church’s call to share the Gospel. After the usual Eucharistic celebration, the church ground and the community hall were transformed into a lively hub with various food stalls, delicious dishes, and diverse dishes catering to everyone’s tastes. From Homemade treats to savory delights, the stalls were a major attraction and received overwhelming support. Adding to the festive atmosphere were entertaining games set up by vibrant youth. These games designed for all age groups, kept the crowd engaged and added a joyful spirit to the celebration. Laughter, cheers, and friendly competition echoed throughout the day.
The funds raised through the event will be directed to support the mission of the church. The success of the celebration is a testament to the unity and enthusiasm of the parish community, particularly the dedicated efforts of the youth. The celebration highlighted the spirit of unity and mission of the church, with families coming together to support a greater cause.
Mission Sunday at St. Mary’s church, Hegde Nagar, was not just an event but a powerful reminder of the call to live out the mission entrusted to us as disciples of Christ. The day ended with Housie Housie, part of the program at 7:00 pm. Parish priest Fr. Boniface D’ Souza thanked everyone who cooperated to make the event a grand success.
