About Us

A Short History....

St. Mary’s Church in Hegdenagar, Bangalore, has a relatively short but impactful history.it is situated about 25kms away from the metropoitan city.this parish was the substation of Marianpalya and Byrathi.For many years the Carmelite Fathers have rendered thier spiritual ,social and other needs of the same.The church was established in 2000 to serve the growing Christian population in the Hegdenagar area.

Initially, the church started in a small rented building, where a small group of devoted worshippers gathered for prayer and worship. Over time, as the congregation grew, there was a need for a larger space to accommodate the increasing number of worshippers.

In 2006, with the support and contribution of the local community, the foundation stone for a new church building was laid. Construction began, and in 2009, the new St. Mary’s Church was consecrated, providing a beautiful place of worship for the Christians in Hegdenagar.

Since its establishment, St. Mary’s Church has become a vibrant hub for the Christian community in the area. It offers regular worship services, conducts religious education programs, and organizes various social and charitable activities aimed at making a positive impact on the lives of its members and the surrounding community.

With each passing year, the church continues to grow in both the number of worshippers and its impact on the local community. St. Mary’s Church in Hegdenagar, Bangalore, stands as a testament to the faith and dedication of its founders and serves as a symbol of unity and spirituality for the Christian population in the area.

St. Mary's Church Hegde Nagar, has grown immensely over the past few years. From a small little hut to a full grown Church today. What started with a few families about 15 to 17 years ago without benches to sit on. Now has over 150 + families with not only benches to sit on but a newly renovated altar, projector and LED TV's. This is the rate at which this beautiful church is growing. Come join as we praise and glorify our Lord.

  I went to this church for my niece's funeral. My first visit. So I didn't forget to pray for three wishes. 🙏🙏 A small church but beautifully decorated as a Catholic Church should be. Comfortable benches to sit and soft layers of cloth fitted on the kneelers. Lots of windows for light and air. Though it's on the main road, the sound doesn't disturb the calm atmosphere. You feel at peace once you're inside. Do feel free to visit if you want some peace and quiet. Helps you destress. 🤗🤗 Couldn't take many photos due to the sad situation. 🙋🙋
