A solemn and grace-filled celebration marked the blessing and inauguration of the newly built chapel at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hegdengar. On 2nd November 2025, the day dedicated to all Souls. The ceremony was presided over by Fr. Boniface D Souza, parish priest of St. Mary’s church, Hegde Nagar.
The programme began with the blessings and inauguration of the new chapel. Symbolizing a sacred place for prayer and remembrance of the departed faithful. Following the blessing, the holy mass was celebrated in the cemetery, concelebrated by Fr. Ivan Sanctis and Fr. Selva Kumar. The liturgy was deeply spiritual, helping the faithful to reflect on the Christian hope in the resurrection and eternal life.
In his concluding message, Fr. Boniface D’Souza expressed his sincere gratitude to all who contributed to the successful completion of the chapel, especially the construction workers. He also thanked the religious sisters, choir members, and the faithful for their active participation and prayers.
The celebration served as a poignant reminder of the Christian belief in life after death and the communion of saints, thereby strengthening the bond of faith within the parish community.
