On the joyous occasion of the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, St. Mary’s Church in Hegde Nagar celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm. The festivities were marked by four solemn masses in different languages, ensuring inclusivity for the diverse parish community:
- 7:00 AM – English Mass
- 8:30 AM – Kannada Mass
- 10:00 AM – Tamil Mass
- 6:00 PM – English Mass
On this solemn occasion, Scapulars were blessed and distributed to the faithful.
During these celebrations, the parish also bid a heartfelt farewell to Fr. Stephen Lobo OCD, who has been a dedicated assistant parish priest over the past eight months. Fr. Boniface Dsouza OCD, the parish priest, expressed his gratitude for Fr. Stephen’s unwavering commitment and numerous contributions to the parish. Notably, Fr. Stephen was instrumental in:
- Rectifying the church’s sound system
- Designing a beautiful new website: www.stmaryschurchhegdenagar.com
- Delivering inspiring homilies on Sundays
- Preaching motivating Annual Retreat in English
- Serving as a kind and supportive assistant
The parishioners deeply appreciated Fr. Stephen’s service and wished him all the best in his future endeavors.
As one chapter closes, another begins. The parish warmly welcomed Fr. Ivan Sanctis OCD as the new assistant parish priest. The community looks forward to his guidance and wishes him success in his new role.
St. Mary’s Church, Hegde Nagar continues to thrive as a vibrant and united community, celebrating faith and fellowship under the mantle of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
