On November 1st 2024, St. Mary’s Church, Hegde Nagar celebrated the Confirmation Mass. The ceremony began welcoming and thanking His Grace, Archbishop Peter Machado for his presence by Fr. Boniface D’Souza OCD (Parish Priest) & The Parish Pastoral Council members.
The mass was officiated by His Grace, Archbishop Peter Machado and was celebrated with great joy and reverence. The solemn occasion marked a significant spiritual milestone for thirty-six young candidates, who were confirmed on All Saints’ Day.
Archbishop began with an inspiring homily and emphasized the importance of Confirmation as a step towards deepening one’s commitment to live a life filled with faith, courage and service, calling them to become true witnesses of Christ in today’s world.
During the Rite of Confirmation, the Archbishop invoked the Holy Spirit upon the candidates, anointing them with Chrism Oil and bestowing upon them the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Archbishop extended blessings upon the candidates, their families and all gathered. Meaningful liturgy was conducted by the Confirmation children of our parish.
On behalf of the parish priest and parents, Rohan Raphael thanked Archbishop Peter Machado for gracing the occasion. He also thanked Mr. Sunil Thomas & Margaret Sandra for their support as mentors and guidance in their faith journey. He also thanked all those who participated in making the event a grand success. Our church’s melodious choir enriched the celebration.
The Confirmation mass was a profound experience, not only enriched the candidates but also served as a reminder to the entire congregation.
Archbishop’s message of hope, perseverance & faith resonated throughout the congregation, inspiring both newly confirmed and the entire parish to continue living as devoted disciples of Christ.
