The inauguration of Catechism Day at St. Mary’s church in Hedenagar was held on 9th June 2024. It was a significant event for the parish community. More than a hundred children were present for the event. The day began with a special holy mass dedicated to the importance of catechism. The celebrant of the holy mass was Fr. Boniface D’ Souza OCD, the parish priest, and the homily was focused on the value of religious education and catechism’s role in the community’s spiritual growth, especially children.
It was a moment of prayer and reflection to help participants grow spiritually. There were varieties of programs like songs, dances, and other performances conducted by Children and youth of the parish centered around themes and teachings. Refreshments were served to encourage fellowship and community bonding. At the end of the program, the parish priest Fr. Boniface D’ Souza thanked everyone for their active participation.
