On December 21st, 2024 St. Mary’s church Hegde Nagar organized a delightful Konkani Christmas GetTogether, bringing the community together to celebrate the joy of the season. The event began at 7:00 P.M. with traditional Christmas Carols followed by a Solemn mass, celebrated in Konkani filling the congregation with spiritual fervor and gratitude.
The main celebrant of the mass is Fr. Jason Tellis and Fr. Nikesh D’ Souza who gave the inspiring homily, who insisted on unity among the diverse cultures. Following the Eucharistic celebration, a variety of entertaining programs enthralled the audience. The vibrant cultural performances included Carol singing Housie, housie, and Konkani dances showcasing the rich heritage of the community. Delicious Mangalorean food added to the joyful atmosphere, making it a memorable evening of faith, fellowship, and festivity.
Fr. Boniface D Souza, parish priest thanked Konkani core committee members who shoulder the entire program and made this event a great success. Mr. Preetam who compered the program, kept everyone on their toes with his energetic and engaging hosting style.
The event was a grand success fostering unity and Christmas joy among all who attended.
